You Can Avoid the Noid, But You Can’t Flee the DXP: Domino’s Unveils New Chevy Spark–Based Delivery Vehicle

Domino's DXP Chevy Spark

Pizza pilots of the world, rejoice, for your Grand Ams and G6s will no longer reek of stale slices long after your shift has ended. Domino’s has announced its new DXP—which stands for “Delivery Expert”—based on Chevrolet’s diminutive Spark.

The design was born from a crowdsourcing contest held in conjunction with Local Motors, then whittled and fettled into the machine you see before you. Built by Roush Enterprises, the DXP features a warming oven large enough to hold eighty pizzas in the rear—perfect for weddings, parties, anything, really—and a rethought version of the classic Domino’s stick-on lamp. It’s all pretty shamelessly dorky, which, as we hurtle toward Mike Judge’s dystopian fast-food vision from Idiocracy, we actually rather appreciate.

The DXP fleet will be equipped with OnStar to help drivers find the most peskily hidden abodes. Ed Peper, VP of General Motors Fleet says, “We love to see fleets use our vehicles in new and innovative ways.” And while we’re not sure that we’d call pizza delivery an innovation, we’re a little anxious to spot our first DXP when they hit the streets later this month.
