Audi just dropped some numbers on its long-wheelbase flagship sedan, and things are trending upwards. And by things, we mean horsepower. For 2016, Audi is adding the A8L 4.0T Sport model, in which the car’s twin-turbo V-8 is bumped to a solid 450 horsepower, 15 more than the now-departed non-Sport 4.0T. Of course, the extra power is welcome, but it wasn’t strictly necessary—the previous 4.0T hit 60 mph in a scorching 3.9 seconds in our testing.

Packing resculpted front and rear lower bumpers, more prominent rocker panels, and fewer chrome accents, the Sport is likely only to be noticed by true Audi aficionados. The company’s design chief, Marc Lichte, told us earlier this year that a more-radical next-generation Audi A8 is in the works, so it’s likely that models such as this will be all that changes until the new car is ready. Standard 20-inch five-spoke wheels are fitted in place of the previous 19-inchers, while 21-inch wheels are optional.

Also included are all the features A8L buyers have come to expect: heated and ventilated sport seats with massage function, a head-up display, myriad driver-assist features, a panoramic sunroof, and more. The best feature of all? The base MSRP for the 2016 Audi A8L Sport is just $100 more than last year’s 4.0T.
