Mercedes-AMG Teases New C63 Coupe on Its Facebook Page

Mercedes-Benz hasn’t shown us any versions of its upcoming C-Class coupe yet, although we’re fairly sure it’ll look something like this. Today, however, Mercedes-Benz has provided a glimpse of one the hot Mercedes-AMG C63 version of the car on its Facebook page, and we’ve grabbed a few of those images—the only ones that show much of the car—for your scrutiny and enjoyment.

Let’s take inventory of what we can see: long hood, low nose, headlamps much like those of the Mercedes-AMG C63 sedan—nothing surprising there. But then there are some huge carbon-ceramic brake discs, gold calipers, and sexy black 19-inch racing wheels wrapped by 255/35-series Continental ContiSport rubber (and you can expect the tires in back to be much wider). The 2016 C63 S model sedan, for comparison, wears 245/35ZR-19s in front and 265/35ZR-19s in back, which leads us to believe that this is the more powerful C63 Coupe S model, although we do not believe that this is a Black Series—we’re told the basic model will look wicked enough to satisfy most appetites for a while.

What we can’t see are the expected fender garnishes, grille, and intake surfaces—will they be black or satin silver or chrome?—or the entire rest of the car. Oh, how we fret! We don’t expect to be left in the dark for long, however; while the striptease is likely to continue in the weeks to come, the model may make its debut during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance festivities next month. Watch this space.
