-With Cadillac moving to the City that Never Sleeps, we suppose we shouldn’t be surprised to see the appearance of the new Midnight special edition of its ATS for 2016, an appearance package that renders the grille and rear lower license plate garnish in black chrome, with blackout window trim to match. The 18-inch forged wheels have gone dark as well, while inside, the Midnight package adds suede microfiber upholstery for the steering wheel and shifter. The package also includes the contents of the Cold Weather package (heated seats and steering wheel), presumably because it cools off at night in most places Cadillacs are sold. If you’re in reading this in Florida right now, you might find that hard to believe, but it’s true.
–
The package is available on rear- and all-wheel-drive ATS coupes and sedans in the Performance trim level, and is a $600 upgrade for the coupe and $1695 option for the sedan. Color choices are limited to red, white, Phantom gray or, of course, black.

If the “midnight” theme rings familiar to you, it’s could be because Nissan just introduced a Midnight edition of its Maxima, just two months after Chevrolet introduced a Midnight edition of the Impala. Nissan also sold a Juke Midnight edition for 2013, for the record.

Will Cadillac start to midnight all the things in the future? No one at Cadillac would say. But given the reasonable price and zestier appearance of this one, we’d welcome them.
