Fiat-Chrysler is recalling 105,458 Dodge Dart sedans for the potential loss of power-brake assist, the company said Friday.

On 2013-2014 Dart sedans with the Tigershark 2.0-liter or 2.4-liter engine—but not models with the 1.4-liter turbo Multiair engine—oil may trickle through the brake vacuum hoses into the brake booster diaphragm and cause a loss of power assist. FCA says it knows of at least seven accidents and two injuries that may be attributable to this defect, which can cause the brake pedal to feel overly stiff and result in longer stopping distances. A “pop” or other sounds may identify a potential vacuum leak. Recall filings were not yet posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Dealers will replace the vacuum tube, and if oil is present, they’ll install a new vacuum pump, brake booster, and master cylinder. Only Dart models built before January 24, 2014 are affected. The Dart has been recalled four other times since its 2013 debut, including most recently in August for transmissions that could inadvertently shift into neutral.
